PROJECT ORANGE

6.8 Million oranges delivered nation-wide to vulnerable communities in Covid-19 hotspots

PROJECT ORANGE 2020

The Ruben Richards Foundation facilitated a donation of over 6.8 million oranges which were hand-picked during the harvest season. This donation enabled the foundation to deliver vital vitamin C and boost the immune systems of 1.2 million families across South Africa.

The hand-picked oranges were donated by Citrus Producers in the Olifants River Valley (Clanwilliam and Citrusdal area of the Western Cape). This donation was the first of its kind in the history of South Africa and the Citrus industry.

We hope to implement this project annually to address food security and the health of people in vulnerable communities.

Please see the Project Orange Facebook and Instagram page for complete coverage of the Project: @ProjectOrange2020.

We would like to thank all local and international donors for their generous contributions.
